Youthful Brow Lift

If you feel plagued by wrinkles across the forehead, or feel tired looking at your dropping brow, you may be the ideal candidate for a brow lift procedure. A brow lift can help restore a youthful appearance and allow you to look more relaxed.

What is the procedure?

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, reduces wrinkles across the forehead, around the eyes, and helps lift the upper and mid face into a place that appears more relaxed. This procedure also decreases vertical creases between the brows and lifts brows into a place that leaves you looking alert. Brow lifts are often performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facelifts, and skin treatments or fillers.

How it works

Brow lift techniques can involve a traditional open approach as well as endoscopic techniques. Modern brow lift surgery uses an endoscopic procedure that is less invasive and reduces downtime. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia and uses small incisions along the scalp, which allows for scars to be easily hidden. An endoscope is used so that surgeons can see the treatment area on a screen, and the forehead skin is lifted, repositioning the brows and muscle tissue. If necessary, excess skin is removed before the sutures are positioned to close the incisions. A traditional brow lift may be needed to allow shortening of the forehead length or in cases with more significant skin excess. A traditional brow lift involves an incision that is masked along the frontal hairline.

Recovery for a brow lift depends on the extent of the treatment; however, usually, bandages can be removed after a day or two and stitches are removed around five to seven days.
