Breast Reduction

Breast reduction improves body image and alleviates pain and discomfort.

Overly large breasts and the weight of excess breast tissue can limit physical activity and cause pain, discomfort and self-consciousness. Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast gar, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size that is in proportion with a woman’s body. It can alleviate pain and discomfort, and enhance her body image and self-confidence.

Breast reduction can be performed unilaterally (on one breast) or bilaterally (on both breasts.) It is generally considered a reconstructive procedure and may be covered by health insurance. Good candidates for this procedure are healthy individuals of relatively stable weight whose breast development is complete.
